Last week I felt the baby moving.  This is always a fun thing for a mom, to feel that physical connection to the baby.  (More)

Last week (actually within the span of three days) four people asked me if I am pregnant.  Really, you ask?  Yes, really, they did.  One of them was Jonathan, whom you have read has been praying fervently for a little sister, and has not yet learned that you don't ask women that (unless, as Dave Barry says, you can actually see the baby coming out.)  My answer was "not that I know of."

I had bought a box with two tests at Christmas time to see if there was any Christmas present announcement to be made to the family (it was negative then.)  The second one was sitting there in the bathroom and Monday morning, I thought, well, I'll just take it so that I can tell people for sure that I'm not.  However, when I looked at the little window after two minutes, what should I see but a positive result!  I could hardly believe it.

So Noah and I rushed back upstairs to bring the news to Daddy and Jonathan, who of course were very excited.

Expected arrival is sometime in October.  This could potentially be a nice birthday present for Mommy, or even a very special 90th birthday present for Great Grandpa Daley.  Jonathan will be nearly five and Noah will be a couple of months shy of two and a half.

I really was not expecting this (cycles had not yet returned due to nursing) but it does explain some things over the last few weeks.  Noticeable drop in milk supply, slight aversion to pancakes, not feeling perfectly up to par (though I thought I just had what's going around), Jon beating me at Scrabble...

We are all thrilled (well, Noah's rather clueless at the moment) and looking forward to meeting this new little one, boy or girl!

Jonathan can now give real kisses. He likes to kiss the baby/tummy, and he also discovered that he can give him raspberries, and he thinks that's hilarious.

Last Tuesday was our last prenatal apointment. Everything was great, blood pressure back down to normal for me (Jon drove this time!) Baby is big, head-down, and all is well. The next time we see our midwife, I'll be in labor! Keep praying, we're almost there!

Jon had a business-related meeting this evening, and so needed to be in to work on time today. Thus, Jonathan and I went to the midwife appointment by ourselves. (More)

On Sunday we were singing "Forever God is Faithful, Forever God is strong, Forever God is with us, Forever." This is "Samuel's Song" for me - the song that rang through my head all day long when Sam K. was born. It reminded me of all the prayer that went up for his birth, and God's faithfulness in answering it. (More)

Had another prenatal appointment yesterday. All is well. She found the heartbeat right away this time, but Jon couldn't find it himself. He is too cautious - but I'd sure rather he be too gentle than too rough! (More)

Had another prenatal appointment this morning. Blood pressure great; measuring a little big, but still within normal. I have felt like all of a sudden the last week or so, my belly has "popped out." Baby was moving so much it took a while to locate the heartbeat, but it was definitely there. He is head down already! Good job, little one.

We've been trying for a couple of weeks with no success. Then this morning, he gave Jon a nice big kick he could feel, hooray! This is 21 weeks.

20 weeks, half way. Baby is moving a lot, but still not yet felt by the outside world. I borrowed a home blood pressure monitor and that has been nice. It's on the low side, but within normal range, so I am happy.

Wednesday was the second prenatal appointment. It was just barely starting to snow when we left Pittsburgh, and by the time we got to the small country road where our midwife is, it was a little slippery. Jon is good at driving in snow, but he still missed the turn into their driveway. (More)
