My mother shared this story in response to an article about "
bump keys" and someone suggested that we should all move to NH, where people leave their doors unlocked anyway.
Some teenage boys were hanging out in an alley in the center of Hillsboro. Three young men came up to them in the alley and said they wanted money. The response was and I quote: "DUDE, this is Hillsboro, New Hampshire and nobody does stuff like that here," at which point a car drove by and the foiled and apparently re-educated
would-be robbers ran off.
