The stats: 34 lb 10 oz; 33 inches tall Dr.Anderson was finally happy that the weight started to plateau. I had not decreased nursing at all (on purpose, though it did slightly naturally - except for no nursing 30 minutes before dinner.) But I had tried to make sure he got lots of exercise.... (More)

Jonathan has another cold and his nose is running and he is sad. Please pray for health and happiness. When we read the story about Miss Spider's Tea Party (she invites the bugs but they all run away so she is sad - then when she is kind to a stray moth, all the other bugs join her party)... (More)

I have not been too interested in paintings or going to art museums (except I did always like to see the Tiffany glass work.) I will admit that I had my doubts about whether Jonathan would like the Van Gogh bits, simply because I had no appreciation for them myself. But I determined to show them... (More)

I don't know a whole lot about the whole reality TV show craze, (I actually haven't seen a single one) but since this is a blog, I feel liberated to spout my views on the subject. There is an article in the Pittsburgh paper a couple of days ago regarding a former Pittsburgh priest, who has... (More)

Jonathan has been very happy with his bits recently, asking for them a lot. He is never bored with the picture bits, but I have had to scale down on the math and reading cards. However, the other day I discovered a way to show the math dots that keeps him riveted. I say the number several... (More)

This will be specifically a Jonathan update, with a post about our Daley family vacation soon to come. January 20 - Says "hi" January 21 - Jonathan was reading his five languages book to himself. When he got to the Good bye, Train page, he waved and said, "bye-bye." Signs "water" - we... (More)

Jonathan has been asking to vacuum the house all week, but I told him we had to wait until Monday. Today he was so excited when I was vacuuming that he was bouncing and grinning and saying, "vacuum" over and over again. He also got a new set of reading words today and "vacuum" was one. He loved... This morning, I found Jonathan's lower left canine poking through. That's five teeth in a span of only a couple of days! He hasn't been acting unusual - the only thing I can think of is being more cuddly recently. (More)

Jonathan said, "book" today when he went to his bookshelf. He read one of his numbers books for quite a long time. He can now say, "bye-bye" also. The occasions when he does it are when the toilet is flushing and when his turtle turns off. He may also say "umbrella" but it is not yet refined. (More)

The Venables came over for dinner last night. When Jonathan pointed to a button on Hannah's outfit, I said, "That's a button." He immediately poked his finger at it and said, "Push!" (More)

Today was full of Jonathan doing amazing things, but I'll start with Sunday, on which he walked to the store and back, only being carried across a street once when the traffic was too busy - the other streets he crossed himself, holding on to Daddy's hand. Today, when I asked him to give me the... (More)

The night we arrived (Monday) was "Christmas Eve" so we each opened our one present from "Mr. Ho" and filled the stockings for the morning. It turns out that Santa had also visted Bermuda, because we each received a souvenir ornament from Bermuda. "Christmas" morning was leisurely, as Mom had to... (More)

Christmas Eve morning, Jonathan threw up. It turned out to be a stomach bug, so the performance repeated itself several times. We took a bath and napped in a chair. (He seemd to throw up more if he was lying down, so I held him upright and tried to sleep myself.) We tried to nurse, but it just... (More)
