Hopefully, we are different than "Patio Man" , but Heather and I had been considering doing something with our old linoleum kitchen floor, as it seemed impossible to clean. Last week I was in Busy Beaver and saw wood laminate floors on sale, so I decided to get some. It ended up being a... (More)

The bike ride was tough, and my knees hurt a lot, but I made it the whole way. I decided not to do the "century" ride, 100 miles in the first day, but just did 82 miles the first day, and 68 miles the second day. I had friends that biked also, but mostly, some biked faster, and some biked... (More)

I just got back from the courthouse. The judge upheld all charges. The prosecution added a fourth charge as well, that I didn't really understand -- It was a little hard to hear everything. There is an additional charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, I think having to do with... (More)

It went well. The district attorney subpeonaed most midwives in Pittsburgh. Their testimonies were mostly good, acknowledging the fact that things that happened, could happen without the midwife being called incompetent, and it is not definite that there was anything else that should have been... We have been doing pretty good, after the inquest day was over, things got a lot better, and I think we could relax some, and not be so stressed -- although, even as I write this, I realize my shoulders are tense. Somewhat unrelated side-note (related just because it is about babies!) John and... (More)

Inquest today. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as we thought it would be. We got to listen to everyone else testify, which basically was good, interesting to hear the story from various perspectives. A bit hard to hear the autopsy report, but the doctor was... well, as my mom says, if you can't... (More)
