Guess how hard it is to get phone numbers off of the federal do not call list? You just have to ask, and they will give it to you for no charge (up to five area codes). No verification of the registration information is required, so feel free to sign up as many times as you like with random information each time. (More)

Just give him your card and a pair of scissors. In less than five minutes your spending ability will be reduced to a pile of small plastic pieces. (More)

We went to the Kuhns' for dinner Thursday evening and at one point Will wanted to go out and ride his bike. Previously, he and Jonathan had been playing with playdough. I asked Jonathan to wash his hands (it was homemade dough and goopy) while I washed the cookie cutters and other playdough utensils. When I finished, I went to find him. (More)

From Vicki:
Judy's trial was preliminarily set to begin on Feb. 27th, but has again been delayed.

Oral arguments on the Pre-Trial Motions and the Habeas Corpus Writ will now be heard on April 5, 2006. The trial will be set some time after that - most likely this Summer.

Judy has asked that those who pray remember her and her family in prayer at this time as they are struggling with several battles they are facing. The Bible says "Be still and know that I am God", but the "be still" part is not always easy. Please pray that they will be encouraged in their daily walk, because that's where the battle and the moments of frustration come in.

Thank you so much for your support and continued prayers.

Had another prenatal appointment this morning. Blood pressure great; measuring a little big, but still within normal. I have felt like all of a sudden the last week or so, my belly has "popped out." Baby was moving so much it took a while to locate the heartbeat, but it was definitely there. He is head down already! Good job, little one.

Sunday, February 19, 2006, Jonathan went skiing for the first time. Just after 11am, we headed east to Seven Springs, which is the closest/best mountain to Pittsburgh. (More)

Posting this, since it took me a long time to find this site today when I wanted to stop my home computer from annoying me with the reboot dialogs every couple of minutes. (More)

For my company's next product, we are thinking about replacing the normal explorer shell with our own, but we want to be able to access the explorer.exe for debugging, etc. It turns out that when you start explorer, it checks to see if it is listed as a shell, and if it is, and this is the first instantiation of the explorer process, it loads up the desktop/start menu/etc. If the answer is no to either of those cases, it just loads the "regular" file manager view.

One reason Jonathan talks so well is because we talk to him like a real person. Children learn by hearing and by imitating. It is sometimes amusing to hear the things that he says. For example, he got a valentine's day card from Aunt Ellie, and as he saw the stickers on the back and was opening it, he said, "That's so sweet!" (More)

It has been many moons since a fish update. The last blog entry about it was October 2004, but there might be a newsletter that has a more recent update. If not this poor catfish of ours was lonely for a longer time than I thought. (More)

Recently, Jonathan has liked to sit in his little chair with his guitar, strumming and singing, "I love Mommy. She is beautiful. I love Mommy." Now there's a sweet Valentine! (More)

We've been trying for a couple of weeks with no success. Then this morning, he gave Jon a nice big kick he could feel, hooray! This is 21 weeks.

20 weeks, half way. Baby is moving a lot, but still not yet felt by the outside world. I borrowed a home blood pressure monitor and that has been nice. It's on the low side, but within normal range, so I am happy.

Wednesday was the second prenatal appointment. It was just barely starting to snow when we left Pittsburgh, and by the time we got to the small country road where our midwife is, it was a little slippery. Jon is good at driving in snow, but he still missed the turn into their driveway. (More)
