My mother-in-law complained that in the Lord of the Rings, they use blank stares to portray goodness. Apparently, this is not a new trend, as in this movie (made in 1977), Jesus (except for when he is angry) does not ever have an expression on his face. Sometimes when he is asked questions or... I don't know the whole story ( this article is the first I have heard of it), but if you can believe the media, I guess "they" will be coming to get Jonathan too, since he has picked up something off of the floor and put it in his mouth. Horrors. Woman whose child was taken at birth fights to... (More)

The bike ride was tough, and my knees hurt a lot, but I made it the whole way. I decided not to do the "century" ride, 100 miles in the first day, but just did 82 miles the first day, and 68 miles the second day. I had friends that biked also, but mostly, some biked faster, and some biked... (More)

Just went through all of Jonathan's pictures the other day and am amazed at how much he has changed. I said at first that I thought he didn't look like Isaac at all. Now I am starting to see more similarities. I always did think Isaac looked more like a three month old than a newborn, and I... (More)

Either I am just finding a bunch of good stuff today, or else I am tired. Probably the latter. Anyway, go to google and type in "weapons of mass destruction" and then click "I'm Feeling Lucky". A pretty good one. If for some reason that, doesn't work, you can just click here . (More)

I was filling out a survey on surveyspot.com, and got this question. I thought the "Please assume" part was pretty funny. If you were living on a space station for a year and could only bring one electronic device, which would it be? Please assume all will work as they do on earth.... (More)

I thought I would be writing this post to say how great Lingo is, and how you should all sign up for their service. They answer their phone within a couple rings, no matter when I called, and sounded like they would be able to fix any technical problems I had. However, after spending hours on... (More)

Judy is still in jail, held over the weekend for a variety of delays and other "mistakes" such as: the guy who takes the bail isn't here today the guy who does the psychological evaluation doesn't work on Saturdays the guy who does the psychological evaluations decided not to work on... (More)

Hi all. Thanks for continuing to pray for us, and for letting us know that you haven't forgotten all this stuff. Unfortunately, I am still adding to this web page in 2004, who would have thought? I don't think I have written previously that the case has switched attorneys, sometime towards the... (More)

Apparently, the way the legal system works in Pittsburgh is that the media finds out things first. KDKA called Judy's attorney today asking that since the district attorney will be making his decision shortly, whether Steve and Judy would like an interview. It seems strange to me that the... (More)

There was a funeral held today for Isaac in Old Saybrook, CT. Many members of our family were there, as well as a couple friends. The text of the bulletin is below. My grandfather led the service and a meditation on our hope and expectation of life after death for ourselves. There were many... (More)

Scott Hansma originally wrote a plugin for Eudora in 1997. When he graduated, he asked if I wanted to take over control of the source, as he wasn't interested in working on it any more. I said that I was, and I added a couple features, but never got them up to release quality. Now, in 2003,... (More)

We went to the CORE ceremony today. The ceremony was for donors and recipients of organ donations from 2002. Isaac's heart valves were collected and frozen for future use. They have not yet been transplanted into anyone yet, but I guess they can be stored for a couple years and they will still... (More)

The service was great! Thank you to all who came, and to all who helped out with setting up, cleaning up, and making food, running the overhead projector, leading worship, setting up and playing the cd player, making photocopies, and running back to the church to get the bulletins that I left...
