This morning Jonathan and I went down to the basement. I opened the dryer door for him and told him he could take the clothes out and put them in the laundry basket if he wanted to.
While I rinsed out a dirty diaper, he did just what I said! He unloaded the whole thing all by himself (including reaching way to the back to get something!)

It's wonderful that you have the time and patience to let him help at the age where he really enjoys it -- therefore the best age for starting that great habit. And he really did help; this was not a case of letting him do a job you could do faster yourself, since you were busy while he did it! :)

Very true! However, remember all those times up until now that he's "helped" with the dryer? He would not have done the job so well this time if he hadn't been experimenting with it for months already.
