Colors - just before we left for vacation, Jonathan and I were sitting on our tshirt quilt. I pointed out a yellow sun, and he repeated me. Then he pointed to another yellow sun and named it, then to a blue shirt and said "blue", to a green shirt and said "green" and finally to a black shirt and said "black"!
Once on vacation, our cousins reinforced his color knowledge with Grandma's colored "asterisks" and now Jonathan knows and can say all the basic colors plus pink, black and white.
On the trian ride, when we entered the second tunnel of the trip, Jonathan said "tunnel" without any prompting.
To everyone's delight, Jonathan said most of our relatives' names while we were visiting them.
A major milestone for a nursing child - Jonathan fell asleep next to me without nursing a couple of times. So then Jon took the opportunity to read stories and put Jonathan to bed one night at the Maggie P. Then when we were at Jon's high school reunion, Grammy put Jonathan to bed. (And that's another milestone for us - the first night out just the two of us. Which, by the way, we would rather have had Jonathan with us, but the reunion people said no children.)
On Monday when we were playing with his trucks, Jonathan said to me "You push the shovel." His first long complete sentence!
When he goes through a door or gate, Jonathan will now say "Bye, see you!"
