Keys and Locks

I have been locking the file cabinet because Jonathan not only likes to pull the drawers (which is fine) but he also likes to pull out the papers in the drawers (not fine!)
Just now he was sitting on my lap and he saw the keys on the table. He asked for them and I gave them to him. He immediately went to the file cabinet and began fitting a key in the lock. He did manage to get it in, but then asked me to take it out before he turned it to open it. He is diligently working to get it back in again.

Working to get the first step down pat before moving on the the next, undoubtedly. Pretty soon it will have to be discipline, not difficulty, that will keep him out of trouble!

Today, he successfully inserted the key in the lock, turned it, and opened the drawer...
