One Disadvantage to Signing

For lunch on Saturday we had pasta with red sauce. Jonathan had it all over his fingers when he signed "please" and smeared sauce all over his shirt!

My heart sank when I read the title of the post. Signing and eating don't mix now, but think about - in a little while he'll be able to "talk" with his mouth full!

I'm not sure I made it clear. My heart is not still sunk, it was just my first reaction. I shouldn't post comments when I'm tired (and yes, it's only 9:30pm).

I almost titled it "The Only Disadvantage to Signing" but I didn't want to limit myself in case another example comes up. But for sure signing is great and we will happily trade clean shirts for increased communication!
