On Tuesday, I just randomly started singing "All Around the Mulberry Bush" without really thinking about it. When I finished, Jonathan said in a singy voice, "monkey, weasel, monkey, weasel!"
That evening when we were putting on shoes to go home from the Kuhns, Jonathan said, "right foot" and "left foot" correctly!

Jonathan will identify the UPS truck by name when he sees it.

Since Grandma made a recording of herself reading Peter Rabbit for Jonathan, it is one of his favorite stories. He had been able to identify the book by sight, even before she sent the PowerPoint presentation. She wondered when he would recognize Peter Rabbit in the blanket that she made for him. Today was the day! I had taken it out of the drawer about a week ago (without telling him anything other than Grandma had made it for him), and today he just looked at it and said, "Peter Rabbit blanket."

Then this afternoon after I showed him the Butterfly Parts bits, he was playing with them and correctly identified "forewing." Then he said, "forewing, five-wing" !

How many more ways can I say, "What a fantastic kid!"?

Of course, all our children/grandchildren/nephews are fantastic. I had just finished reading this post when Dad came in the room, exclaiming, "That kid is great!" I asked, "Did you just read about forewing-fivewing?" Turns out he had been reading a different blog, and was talking about Janet. :)
