It has been many moons since a fish update. The last blog entry about it was October 2004, but there might be a newsletter that has a more recent update. If not this poor catfish of ours was lonely for a longer time than I thought.
The little three-line cory catfish named Laura has hung on and not died for a long time. Lonely and not very interesting, to be sure, but still alive. We have been looking for an adoptive home for "her" because we are tired of the work it takes to clean the tank - we have other priorities right now.

Well, the other day I went to a friend's house for a scrapbooking workshop, and lo and behold, she has two goldfish. The whole family was excited to have a new fish, so the next Friday, Jonathan and I dropped little Laura off. The report is she is happy with her new home and new friends. And we are happy too.

We did a thorough cleaning and emptying and drying of all components of the fishtank and are now looking for a buyer. Maybe someday we will have fish again, but not for a long time we think, and it is not worth it to store all the paraphernalia.
