Hello.  I often get ThinkGeek gift certificates (I expect they give $10 certificates to anyone who asks them).  And I just got one today for $10 off a $30 purchase.  They have some fun things, but I am not planning on using it.  Let me know if you are interested.

You could always get this slide rule for educational purposes...

How lovely! Though I'm pretty sure we could supply the real antique, not just a reproduction. :)

Those were the days. A slide rule made you a geek. During a chemistry exam, one of Porter's friends dropped his slide rule and it shattered on the floor. The tense and sympathetic reaction from the crowd of fellow students was palpable, as was their common relief and respect when he calmly pulled out a spare. Only an über-geek carried two slide rules!

I have two of my uncle's old slide rules (one cheap plastic and one nice resin) - I really need to figure out how to use them. Maybe I'll bring it into work and start crunching budget numbers with it.

Dad has one - and I tried to figure out how it worked as a kid, but never was able to.
