Jonathan was playing with Heather's hair band, and was calling it a bandand, his word for rubber band, (close to his word for baid-aid: bandane)Heather encouraged him to call it a rubber band, and he made the face that means, "that word is too hard for me to say", so I just said, "rubber", but he still didn't go for it, so then I said, "rub", and then he said could say that word, but still didn't attempt saying it, but instead said, "Just Jay", who is the Jay in NH, as opposed to Uncle Jay.
We were confused as to why he started saying that, but then he said, "Rob", as in Erica's fiance. Then he did say, "rub", "rubber", and "rubber band", and quite thrilled with himself when he got the whole phrase.
It probably isn't worth another blog entry, so I will also mention that he has started connecting two words most of the time instead of just saying one word.

Funny conversation during dinner:
Jonathan: freen
Us (clueless): huh?
Jonathan (moving his hand from one side to the other to help us understand): freen.
Heather: clean?
Jonathan (shakes his head)
Heather (looking at the door): screen?
Jonathan: no
Me: freen?
Jonathan (quiet, staring at me, since I obviously pronounced it totally wrong)
Heather: sing?
Jonathan (very slowly, since we weren't smart enough to understand him when he spoke at normal speed): ff-r-een.
Me: I don't know what you are saying. Is there another way you can say it?
Jonathan: yes! moon-seen.
Us (still bewildered)
Jonathan: cat. Brown. moo.
Me (aha, he is talking about his book): Mr. Brown goes moo, and the cat?
Jonathan: yes. moo-sceen.
Me (aha again): Movie screen!
Jonathan (weakly, so we weren't quite convinced): yes. (and then stronger) yes!
Heather's mom made a power point presentation of herself reading a Dr. Suess book, and Jonathan likes to watch it on the computer, and sometimes on the screen with our projector, and one of his favorite parts is a cat.
