Due to needing to have the well-child visits a year apart and to my previous and current hesitation to use the phone, especially with our doctors' office having this weird new scheduling system, we didn't get to Jonathan's four year checkup until last week.

He is 44lb and 42." This makes his official weight still one pound short of his two year weight.  But we learned that his example has loosened Dr.Anderson up regarding breastfeeding weight.  He uses Jonathan (nameless of course) as an example when mothers are concerned if their breastfeeding babies are too fat.  Hooray!

He got vision and hearing tests.  At first, the results of the eye test showed one eye 20/40, which was "two lines" off from the other (20/25) so they were going to recommend examination by an eye doctor.  However, Jon saw him squishing his eye (when told to cover it to examine the other eye) and there was a bit of funniness with that side's test anyway.  So we just had them redo the test and that eye was 20/20.

Jonathan had a bit of trouble with the ear test "game"  - he always alternated ears instead of paying attention to which ear was actually hearing the tone.  When the nurse asked him to concentrate, he got it perfectly.

It was time for more shots, and we decided to go ahead and give him the three at once.  He had never had a reaction before, he's older, and it really is easier to not come in every two weeks for shots.  Noah got his one first, with no crying at all.  Then Jonathan sat on Jon's lap for his.  He laughed after the first one, I think in relief that it was not as bad as he thought (or he's taking after Aunt Janet.)  Second one was fine as well.  The third the nurse always does last because it stings, and he did cry a bit for that one, but was consoled by a pretzel.

Everything else was fine and Dr.Anderson was very happy with Jonathan's development.  I feel like there was something else I wanted to write here, but I have forgotten it.

I thought this post was about y'all's ground water supply or septic system until I read past the title. And even then, a well-child sounds like a light-deprived nymph to me. I plead bachelor's ignorance...
