3/29 - Jonathan was upstairs quietly playing for a very long time. When he finally came down, he showed us what he had been working on the whole time. It was a completely filled in color-by-number page. He read the colors all by himself to see which one went with which number. Sometimes he helped himself with a clue like "I figured b-l-u-e had to say blue, because 1 was the sky." He also did a very neat job of coloring within the lines. He had not been very good at it in the past, but I had never pushed the issue. I think it was because he didn't really care, and that was one reason I hadn't pushed it.
3/31 - Noah recognizes and says "red" (weh) and "green" (een) and is working on blue and yellow. He will tell me "not memmember" when he wants me to tell him what color it is.
4/1 - Not a joke. I happened to look in Faith's mouth and saw TWO more teeth cutting their way through, one on either side of that first top tooth. No wonder she hasn't been so happy. I finally decided to go ahead and get the Baby Orajel, but she hates that worse than teething. I tried it on myself, and it does rather sting at first before it numbs. Then a numb mouth is a weird feeling and it's hard to nurse (for her, I mean. I haven't tried...) So I'm back to the homeopathic pills, which actually do work if I remember to give them to her on a regular basis. But I am thankful that it is not summer and we are not camping. (Jon was six months old when he got six teeth at once and it was a miserable, hot camping trip for him and Barbara.)

Why am I not surprised? Jonathan is a genius.
