On Friday, we all had fun on the Kuhns' new indoor trampoline. I showed Will how we used to count while jumping, and he jumped and counted (by ones) all the way to 100. He did not make himself start over if he missed a jump, he just kept jumping until he remembered the next number. But Alissa thought it might have been the first time he counted all the way to 100 without skipping any numbers. Then he went by 100's to a thousand. He originally wanted to go to two thousand but he was tired and someone else wanted to jump.
Later on, I was with Alissa in the kitchen, and she said, "Listen!" Jonathan was jumping on the trampoline saying, "8, 9, 10, 11, 8, 9, 10, 11...!"

Then on Monday, we went to a friend's house to take some strawberry plants from their garden before they move. Right behind their house is a lovely playground, which we spent a fun time in. On the swings, I explained a little about pumping his legs so he could push himself, and he actually did it for a few cycles! He's real fast at going up and down playground ladders now - I remember it was only November when he went down one for the first time by himself.

Going back in time a little, on Thursday we walked to the Moores' house to share some pie. It's about a mile, and Jonathan ran much of the way. I'm used to ambling along while walking with him, but I was tired and out of breath when we got there!

Last night, while visiting the Venables, we walked to their neighborhood track and did lots of running there, too. Jonathan had a very cute starting block position, but he didn't want to go at my "on your mark, get set, go!" He convinced me to run down the field with him, and it was actually pretty fun if I remembered to hold my abdominal muscles tightly and keep good posture.

Suggesting once again that a good physical program for the kids might be great for Mom, too!
