I had been wondering for a few days if I was seeing correctly.  But yesterday I knew for sure, and this morning only confirms it.  Noah finishes what's on his tray and looks up at me expectantly.  I ask, "more, please?" with signs (sometimes it's a full sentence like 'do you want more bread') and there it is! He brings his hand somewhere between his stomach and chest and rubs with his hand opening and closing (rather as if he's tickling himself.)  So there you have it, folks - Noah's first word is the sign for please.

He did it just now when Jonathan was playing with playdough. But he's still too young.  As it says on the box "fun to play with, but not to eat."

In other Noah news, he definitely understands, "No, don't touch the trash."  And will take his hand away when I ask.  That doesn't stop him from trying again immediately, though yesterday, I thanked him for obeying and picked him up right away so he would have positive reinforcement and removal from temptation.

Yeah for Sign Language! And yeah for Noah! I hope I recognize him when I come home. Thanks for the pictures. I've been aching for news. Hugs, kisses and Swiss chocolate from Aunt Janet! Hm, for some reason the chocolate won't go through . . .

Guess you'll have to eat it yourself. Or save some for us. :)
