On weekends, Jonathan often helps Daddy make breakfast while Mommy gets a little bit of nice time to herself with God. This Sunday morning, Jonathan successfully used the spatula to lift the pancakes off the griddle and onto the plate!
Jonathan has also started learning the names of electronic parts, since Daddy is a taker-aparter-fixer-upper kind of guy. Today after Women's Bible Study we were hanging around with the babysitter and her daughter. Annie has a toy gun that plays space-laser type sounds and lights up red lights when the trigger is pressed. She let Jonathan play with it and he was quite delighted. When it was time for them to leave, I asked him to give it back to Annie and he was very upset. When he was calm enough to explain clearly why he was disappointed, he said, "LED, LED, LED!"

He is now a pro at the ten Basic Crayola colors, and Grandma has made him some new Bits with more exciting colors. This morning, as he was playing with the colors after he saw them, he pointed to aqua and said "usha" meaning fuschia - those are the two new colors in the batch that he didn't know before this morning. I told him that was aqua and showed him the fuschia and said that was fuschia, and he named it correctly after that.

"LED, LED, LED!" -- Hooray for Jonathan! Hooray for Daddy! That gave Dad-o a much needed laugh in the middle of the day. (Grandma, too.)
