Push

The Venables came over for dinner last night. When Jonathan pointed to a button on Hannah's outfit, I said, "That's a button." He immediately poked his finger at it and said, "Push!"

Another piece of data for his growing knowledge of the mysteries of English. One word can have several different meanings. Just wait till he tackles the 100-some-odd meanings of "up"!

He's already learning some different meanings of "on." Turning lights *on* and turning water *on* are similar, yet different. But putting a block *on* your head is entirely different!
