I was listening to "One More Day" and thought I would write a bit about him and his songs.
I first heard David when he came to CMU, I think in 1996, shortly after being given a couple months to live by his doctor due a large tumor. The only song I remember from his first visit to Carnegie Mellon was, "If I Had Another", which he sang slightly differently live than recorded, but basically it is the same song.It speaks of spending your time well, and I was affected as a college student, even though I hadn't been given "6 months to live" or whatever. David spoke of how he thought of time differently now, that as a 30 year old, he hadn't thought much about death, etc. but if you really did know that you only had 6 months to live, would you change anything with your life?
It has now been ten years since being told he had only a short time to live. I missed him the last time he was at CMU, but I will have to look out for the next time.

Ah, I didn't look at the schedule first - he won't be at CMU, but will be in Pittsburgh, October 1st and December 10th.

Maybe I will be able to grab some friends to come along.
