Home stretch, here we are! This will be the first time my third trimester is entirely in the summer, so I was glad for that stretch of cold, rainy May.
I went for my glucose tolerance test yesterday, and Jonathan was jealous that I got to drink the "orange soda." Too bad he couldn't drink it for me, we both would have been happy!
I have a midwife appointment Tuesday, so hopefully the results of the test will be in then and I can give one comprehensive update after that appointment.
The last couple of days have been really hot, but we made popsicles in anticipation, which has been good. I've also been making iced tea.
The boys continue to love kissing and blowing raspberries on my stomach. One time, Jonathan looked up at Daddy and said, "We're not really kissing Mommy, we're kissing the baby." He thinks it's especially funny then the baby sticks a body part out. Last night, there was a sort of corner to my belly where the bottom was poking out and he had fun feeling and pushing it, and singing to the baby.
Noah also has started carrying around a "baby" - a little stuffed pig. He gives it milk (near his belly button!) and calls it "baby" and points to its eyes and nose and generally enjoys taking care of it.

I'll bet Jonathan wouldn't have been happy after the first two sips of that orange "soda." I always wondered why they couldn't give you something good that was sweet -- maple syrup, say. Even pure glucose has to be better than that orange-flavored gunk.
i have no idea why, but each time i hear/read about this pregnancy, or think about you being pregnant, i just assume it's a little girl!
Wow that went fast! I have to say I'm very glad that I won't be in my third trimester until AFTER summer. Especially if this heat continues! And I agree with Liz that I keep thinking it's a girl too. But maybe that's just b/c I know of Jonathan's hopes for a girl. :)
I have a hard time imagining a girl, I guess because I've never had one before. But if you all are right, Jonathan will be very happy. (:
Mom - as much as I love maple syrup, I think it would be really hard to drink a cupful of it. And I bet Jonathan would have liked it. He loves those fake-color-flavor sweet drinks.
Did they chill the drink for you? I remember one technician used to keep them in the fridge which made them much easier to take. Other times I went and they were room temperature - ugh. I also found the orange flavor easier to manage then the "cola" one.
It was chilled, and they didn't give me a choice, just handed me the orange. Though I would have asked for orange if they had handed me cola flavor...
i never minded the drinks - they weren't nearly as sweet as say, fanta or squirt.
i seriously had myself convinced sometime last month that you *told* me you were having a girl - as though you'd seen it on an ultrasound. but then i realized that you've probably never had an ultrasound in all your four pregnancies! so i knew i must have been imagining. :)
Liz - maybe it was a dream! You're right, I have never had an ultrasound (though I did get a prescription for one with Noah when I was measuring so big.)
