Jonathan can really have a conversation on the phone now. He even has good one-sided ones when he is just pretending. For example, "Hello, Mrs. Grover! How are you? You're feeling good. Good!" "Hello, Grandma. I love you, too. Bye."
On Tuesday, Jonathan asked me to get the lotion for him, and I said he could get a little for his hands. Then I went to check my email in the other room and he came in a few minutes later saying, "I putting lotion in my hair!" Sure enough, he had smeared it all in his hair. It made a pretty good approximation of hair gel at first, but after a few hours it was nasty and flaky and sticky.
We have been telling Jonathan about the new baby, and that he will be able to feel the kicking pretty soon. He, like I did when Mom was pregnant with Janet, likes to say he has a baby in his tummy, too. Also, he said one time, "I can feel the baby kicking in your mole!"
Wednesday, we were eating snacks in the dining room and I went up to do something. Jonathan yelled up the stairs, "Mom! Come down and eat prunes with me!"
He has started saying his own prayers sometimes and it is very sweet. Mostly right now it is just repeating what I say, but when I encouraged him to say whatever he wanted to God, he did tell Him what we were having for lunch. He likes to thank God for our new day and to pray for Daddy at work. Thursday, he said, "Mom, let's pray!" many times in a row, so Jon got a lot of prayers for his work. Then when he came home Jon said, "I had a great day at work!"
Jonathan has really been thinning out and looking more like a boy than a baby. Everyone keeps commenting on it. I think maybe he's even losing weight. But he's still at least 40 lbs. He's nursing less, but still plenty, and really eating much more solid foods. We actually have to plan him into what we eat, especially if it's meat. (:
