This is short but my pocket notes are full and I need a new paper.

9/25 - Noah, wearing his Swiss tshirt and red shorts, "This is my hockey outfit.  My hockey team is called Swiss Fire!"

In lieu of nursing for any length of time (which is very irritating when pregnant and seems to get more so each pregnancy) I will sing to Faith as we go to bed.  Her favorite hymn is Holy Holy Holy and she will sing along with me, allternating pronunciation between "hohee" and "hodee".  So sweet!

Can't remember the day.  Jon overheard Jonathan talking to Noah as they were getting ready for bed.  "Don't wear that kind of shirt to bed.  You grow in the middle of the night and you might not be able to get it off!"

9/28 - Opening a letter from Grandma:  Noah, "I know what it is: cool stuff!"  It was some more Sunshine Math pages.  Noah exclaimed, "I LOVE Sunshine Math!"  Jonathan replied, rather reluctantly as if he didn't want to admit it, "Yeah, Sunshine Math is pretty fun."

Thanks for the encouraging words, Noah! Love, Grandma

I saw on Bloglines that there was another Daley Ponderings post, and I thought to myself, "I hope it is a 'pocket notes'," and it was. They are my favorite posts of all time, and this one didn't disappoint. Thanks for doing them.

You're welcome, Dad-o!

Swissfire is also the name of the Swiss Firefighters' Association and a little game the boys might like called Swissfire.

I'm enjoying the Swissfire game, though I'm still at the stage of trying to figure out the rules by the seat of my pants.

It took me 4 minutes and 10 seconds, but I finally managed to put out the fire.

2:49. Good enough to inspire me to get back to real work.

You mean you didn't read them? ;-)

It definitely makes the flow weird having to moderate comments - Jon is working on making it so previously "yes" people can automatically post comments.

After about four tries, I got 2:22. Noah wanted to play himself but we had to do something else. I'll let him try some other time. I am amazed it let you try for four minutes. It seemed to me "Game Over" came quicker than that if I didn't get the fire out.

If it didn't have little green circles where you could put the hoses I think I would have given up entirely.

I thought my second try was 1:42 but then it took me a long time to get to 1:34 so I wonder if I misread my first time or if I just got lucky.

Comment moderation may be annoying, but I'm almost frustrated enough to go for it.

"Game over" usually comes quickly for me, too. It seems to give me more time if I'm making progress, so maybe it stops you if the fire gets too much out of control.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on. But, yes, reading the directions helped somewhat, although a number of the words didn't translate using freetranslation.com.

I don't know how the top score guy got under a minute. I can get 1:11 repeatedly, and as far as I can tell, I'm not making any mistakes, and it doesn't seem to matter how I vary my routine.

Go, Jon! Video game experience helps! My best has been 1:25 for a while now.

So far everyone has been having a blast with this -- except for the two it was intended for. :) Well, *I* think it's more fun than atomic tanks....
