I read an interview of Dean Kamen recently. I first heard of him when he was demoing his Segway invention around the mall in our very own Concord (I don't know if I will ever be a Pittsburgher - still feel like a New Hampshirite), or possibly for USFirst, but he has been around a while - I think he said something about inventing things for 30 years. He sounds like he would be a neat guy to work for - my problem is that I never seem to think of things in the way non-engineers do, so even if I have some neat idea, I don't know how to market it, and so it wouldn't ever go anywhere.

Anyway, the quote that I thought was good:
You [embedded designers] get an A+ for keeping the electricity running and the water clean. You get a D for your attempts at interfacing to the kids.

Sounds like my kind of guy.

I've done the USFirst thing for about 5 years and its always a blast! Dean does seem like he would be a cool guy to work for!
