I also have been doing some work on our new house.  This morning we installed new downspouts on the west side of the house - (we previously had done some work on the east side).  They aren't the prettiest pipes in the world, but the take the water from the two corners and pipe it over down towards the street between our house and the neighbors.  At some point, I'll have to glue at least some of the joints, but for now, they are working nicely just loosely fit together.

Last week, we added a shoe rack and a coat rack in the basement, so we don't track as much dirt into the living room, but enter at the basement and take off our shoes there.  We also made a short coat rack for the boys.  And we also got two of the lights re-wired into three-way switches, so the lights can be turned on from the basement door or the top of the stairs, which is pretty handy.  And another light bulb now has a pull-chain on it, rather than screwing and unscrewing the lightbulb.

I tried adding a shelf inside the well-room, but it turns out the block is hollower than I thought, so the concrete screw thingies I got didn't work.  Some other ones did stick into the concrete quite solidly, but the iron shelving supports that I have don't have big enough holes to hold onto those screws - so I now have these lovely screws sticking out of the wall that won't ever move, but aren't really all that useful, except for holding a relatively thin piece of material to the wall.
