Serina wrote a post on raw milk that I started to comment on, when I decided it deserved a whole post on my own blog. I thought the person quoted in the raw milk article made a good point about lettuce, etc. making people sick. Think of the recent spinach/e.coli thing. Are states now... (More)

For a number of years, I have been on the Worship Quote of the Week e-mailing list, and have found a lot of the quotes to be edifying and helpful.Does our knowledge of God (from His revelation of Himself in the Bible) properly shape our experiences of gathered Christian worship? Is it correct... (More)

Ah, it has been nearly a month since I posted anything. So here's a quick rundown. The boys and I went on vacation without Daddy. We drove to Philly, taking 7 hours, stopping every hour, once on the side of the road, once at a rest stop and three times at exits. If ever you need to stop on... (More)

It seems as if Noah is giving us real smiles now. He also is moving his hands and arms more purposefully. Noah really dislikes wet diapers. He seems like the perfect baby to start trying infant potty training with - now I just need to jump in and do it! (You can search for "elimination... (More)

Noah is a great sleeper and a great nurser. He will sleep 4-5 hours straight at the beginning of the night, and 2-3 hour segments during the day. This actually gives me time to play with Jonathan and get work done! He's also efficient at nursung and does not stay on as long as Jonathan did (or... (More)

Jonathan seems to think that a baseball glove is for throwing the ball as well as catching it. I told him that if he wanted to throw a ball with a tool, he should get a lacrosse stick, it would work better than a glove. He then asked why a "cross like we have upstairs" (I think he was referring... (More)

It started out beautifully. When Jonathan needed a morning diaper change, I put Noah in the carseat which was in the basement family room. He started fussing while I was still rinsing the diaper, so Jonathan went out and started singing quietly to him! When I got there, Jonathan was gently... (More)

Wednesday, June 28. 2:30am. My water broke! That was different. I woke Jon up with the news and he called the midwife while I went up to go to the bathroom and to wake up my parents. The midwife said it could be a long time before labor gets going after water breaking, but that we could... (More)

I now have another blue shirt picture to compare with the first two . Once again, check out the hair length difference! In addition, the video for the Amazing Moving Belly is sure to give you a laugh! People I've done it for have all been amused, and the ladies at my women's Bible study... (More)

Sunday, May 21st, on the way home from church, we saw what a gorgeous day it was and we wanted to go for a sail. We ate a quick lunch and then I took a nap while Jon and Jonathan prepared a picnic dinner and got the boat ready. We were all ready at the same time, and we headed off to the river.... (More)

Saturday, Jon bought me a beautiful little azalea bush which we put in a big pot. Sunday morning, he served me breakfast in bed - pear slices arranged in a heart shape around scrambled eggs. After church, we generally relaxed and had time together. We made fondue for dinner. Jonathan did... (More)

Italics are what I (Jon) said during the dictation, though I missed a lot, and didn't type in some of Jonathan's repeated sentences. Daddy went downstairs with me, and I went downstairs with me too.  We didn't get three scrambled eggs, we got four.  (We had a... (More)

On Friday, we all had fun on the Kuhns' new indoor trampoline. I showed Will how we used to count while jumping, and he jumped and counted (by ones) all the way to 100. He did not make himself start over if he missed a jump, he just kept jumping until he remembered the next number. But Alissa... (More)
