On the GirlTalk blog, they've been posting tributes from daughters to mothers, and I thought I'd write one for my own mom.
Dear Mom,
Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for being such a great Mom and now Grandma.
Here are the things I appreciate about you the most these days. Respecting our differences yet still freely giving wisdom and advice. Your willingness to do what we think is most helpful for our family - not necesarily what you would do yourself. One example is being willing to be Jonathan's companion for the birth when I know you would love to be right with me the whole time.
I love being able to call you up any old time to chat, to ask a question, to talk about bowel movements and vomit, to brag about Jonathan's latest brilliance.
And thanks for making so many bits - I know I still would not be making my own even if you weren't.
You're the best!

love,
Heather
