I just noticed that Jonathan has 203 posts, Isaac has 60, and Noah only has 14, so I will take this opportunity to write about our left-behind third child. He seems to like trying to catch my eye while I am working at my laptop, and we are sitting on the couch together. I will notice that he... (More)

This post has been in my head since shortly after Noah was born, but taking the time to write it has not been on my priority list until now. Before I begin, I would like to say that my purpose in writing is simply an explanation of what we're doing and why I think it's great, and an... (More)

Last weekend, Heather was sick with mastitis, which meant she just wanted to lie in bed all day with flu-like symptoms. It actually started on Friday morning, and she did get progressively better throughout the day, but still decided to stay home from care group that night. I was planning on... (More)

Ah, it has been nearly a month since I posted anything. So here's a quick rundown. The boys and I went on vacation without Daddy. We drove to Philly, taking 7 hours, stopping every hour, once on the side of the road, once at a rest stop and three times at exits. If ever you need to stop on... (More)

I tried to re-activate our prepaid phone, but Cingular no longer supports TDMA phones, which is an older standard, but I hadn't realized that GSM had taken over that much. Our cell phone that we use regularly is also TDMA, but the sales guy said that it should last a while, as long as we don't... (More)

I was listening to "One More Day" and thought I would write a bit about him and his songs. I first heard David when he came to CMU, I think in 1996, shortly after being given a couple months to live by his doctor due a large tumor. The only song I remember from his first visit to Carnegie... (More)

I was updating my list of quotes that I have given people, and I noticed that I have hit the $500/month mark for revenue (not profit), seems like a significant number! It has been fun, though sometimes too much work - hopefully someday will able to just work on Lime Daley stuff, rather than a... (More)

Noah had an appointment at six weeks, kind of both his one month and two month appointments, because of scheduling. He is 13 lb, 13 oz, 23.5 in. Not as fast to gain as Jonathan, but still good and healthy. My suspicion is that he won't be as fat as Jonathan was since Jonathan is now drinking... (More)

Noah is a great sleeper and a great nurser. He will sleep 4-5 hours straight at the beginning of the night, and 2-3 hour segments during the day. This actually gives me time to play with Jonathan and get work done! He's also efficient at nursung and does not stay on as long as Jonathan did (or... (More)

June 28, 6:02pm. 10 lb. 3 oz. 22.5" long, 15" head, 15" chest. This is the quick post. The birth story is coming soon (really! it's actually all written on paper, just needs to be typed.) Sorry for the delay, we've had internet problems, but Jon has it all fixed now. (More)

I don't think I have written about USA Datanet on this blog.  They just reminded me to tell everyone how great they are, so I will gladly do so. USA Datanet is our long distance provider.  They provide a local number that we call when we think we are going to make a lengthy... (More)

About a year ago I realized that the search results from search engines were returning different index pages from this blog, instead of the actual article that contained the term that the person was searching for.  This is because the index pages only show the last 10 articles and are... (More)

This is the hardest one I have ever worked on. [ Update 10/24/2006: thanks to you all reading this post and posting other links, I have since found more interesting ones -- look through the comments - the one posted on October 9th appears to be pretty hard, though maybe I just made a mistake on... I'm so excited about last night's (almost) from scratch Mediterranean dinner success that I have to post! I have come a long way to where I got yesterday. First, when I made this dinner, I would make falafel from a mix, raita (which is actually an Indian name, but I know there's cucumber yogurt... (More)

I got a notification from a credit bureau today saying that a new account had been opened by: Verizon Pen, PO BOX 165018, COLUMBUS, OH 43216. Since I haven't changed phone service since last year, it seemed odd that there would be a new account from Verizon. My mortgage company had their backup... (More)
