We have a neighbor a few doors down who is almost the same age as Jonathan. Today Justin and his mom and Jonathan and I were outside playing at the same time. Justin has a little Power Wheels vehicle that is designed for kids under three. (More)

I mentioned before that Jonathan likes to take the clothes out of the dryer and put them in the laundry basket. Now he likes to put the wet clothes in the dryer if I take them out of the washer and hand them to him. His favorite part, though, is pressing the button to start the dryer. He can't do that by himself, but I lift him up. (More)

On March 31, Jonathan was playing with his little people. He put a girl on one of the circus cars so that she was lying down, said, "night night" and put his head down on the coffee table. (More)

Jonathan continues to love the butterflies. We're almost finished with Van Gogh. We started some mammals, which he likes, too. He likes geography as long as I don't spend too much time on it. We finished with states a while back, did continents, and are now working on countries in Africa. (More)

We went in to see Dr. Anderson yesterday because Jonathan has had a recurrence of the coughing and throwing up routine, and this morning started a fever. (More)

He seems to have at least one new word a day now. Sometime before March 24, he said "boots." On March 24 he signed "cheese" and drank some water from a small bathroom cup by himself without crushing the cup to a pulp and without spilling very much. (More)

This morning Jonathan clearly said, "puzzle." It was not a Mommy-only interpretation, I'm sure. Anyone would have understood it. (More)

Friday evening, Jonathan was cranky, he fell asleep early, and he felt hot. I wondered if it might be an ear infection because his right ear had been squeaking when he nursed. (More)

In situations where it's fun to count down (jumping, etc.) Jonathan will now say, "one... two..." He doesn't seem to want to say three, but the first two are very clear. (More)

This morning Jonathan and I went down to the basement. I opened the dryer door for him and told him he could take the clothes out and put them in the laundry basket if he wanted to. (More)

Last night when it was time to go bed, after I changed his diaper, I took Jonathan down from the table and said, "Go into the other room and say good night to Daddy and then we'll go to bed." (More)

Rhythm is such a funny word I had to look it up to double check the spelling. Anyway, Jonathan has shown advancement in doing puzzles, having patience to turn the piece more than in the past. Today, he successfully put the triangle and square pieces in his shape sorter, where before he only could do the circle. (More)

For lunch on Saturday we had pasta with red sauce. Jonathan had it all over his fingers when he signed "please" and smeared sauce all over his shirt!

While clearing the breakfast dishes this morning, I asked Jonathan if he wanted more juice. "Yes, please or no, thank you," I prompted. He replied, "No. [pause] No, thank you." Very clearly!

Jonathan has an Italian board book that Aunt Janet brought him from Italy, which I stumble through as best I can. After I read a book, he will usually turn through the pages again himself. This time, he babbled in a more singsong voice, unlike his usual talking. I really think he was trying out the Italian! (More)
