Yesterday, Jonathan counted to ten and then to eleven all by himself. This is the first time I've heard him get past six on his own.

This morning, in beautiful sunny 60 degree weather, Jonathan successfully rode his tricycle all by himself. Since he has finally been able to reach the pedals, I have helped him by getting him started down the slight grade in the driveway. Today for the first time, he managed to start himself from stationary and pedal forward a few revolutions.

When I told Jonathan about Dad-o's conference in New York, he asked, "Where New York?" So I showed him New York on his US puzzle. While we were there, he showed me New Hampshire and Massachusetts, entirely on his own initiative. (More)

Jonathan was playing with his farm puzzle, pulling out each piece, naming it, and making the sound that the animal makes. "Rooster, cocka-doo-doo" "Sheep baa" When he got to the pig, he only named it, so I asked him if he remembered what a pig says. (More)

10/26 - Jonathan crumbled his biscuit all over the dining room floor, so I asked him if he could vacuum it up. I got out the vacuum cleaner for him, and he did a great job all by himself! Then he wanted to play with the mini vacuum and he found a very funny game of picking up his color bits with the suction. (More)

Yes, Jonathan has now started to use personal pronouns correctly. He said the title phrase, and then when we were playing, he said, "Jonathan bulldozer, you backhoe." He's still not consistent, but he's starting to figure it out! (More)

Jonathan got out the large United States puzzle yesterday and had fun playing with the pieces. He would pick up one and I'd tell him what it was. Then he dumped the whole thing out and he would try to put them in. (More)
