At the Maggie P, Jonathan learned how to tie knots.  Now he ties ropes all around the yard in a great booby-trap for potential robbers (or mail carriers.) (More)

Jon first noticed red spots on Jonathan's tongue and soft palate while brushing his teeth.  Then we noticed bug bite/pimple-like spots on his knees and then Noah's knees.  Then Noah got more and more spots all around the edges of is diaper area and some on arms and legs.  After two days of this, we thought to look in Noah's mouth and sure enough, red spots. (More)

We're back from a lovely two weeks at the best little house in the world.  I'll save time (so much to catch up on!) by linking to Janet's first post and you can proceed through all five entries.  The boys absolutely loved the sand and water and freedom.  It was rather hot throughout the visit, but at least we had the water nearby to cool off in. (More)

Jonathan is pretty good at catching a ball or object now.

He likes for me to print out coloring book pages for him.  But he doesn't want to color them.  He likes to cut the object (usually an animal) out.  He does a very nice job.

He can now reach our lightswitches if he jumps.

Noah can crawl backwards down the stairs, though so far has not made it all the way down before deciding he wants to go back up again.  I'm still not comfortable letting him do it without supervision, so I usually carry him down after he stops making downward progress.

Oh, and I think he says "ball" now.

We got new sidewalk chalk, since the box I bought when I was at CMU is finally used up. (:  Jonathan likes to paint his tricycle tires, and he calls it "Never Proof Tire Chalk." (More)

This is the weekend for strawberry festivals and several local farms have pick-your-own fields.  Last year, when I was about 39 weeks pregnant, Mom, Dad, Jon, Jonathan and I picked 14 lbs of strawberries at Trax Farms(More)

One is Jonathan at 9 months, one is Noah at (almost) 11 months.  Can you tell who is who?  There is at least one environmental clue in the pictures themselves, but don't look at the links until you've made your guess. (More)

The other day, Jonathan pointed his hand like a gun at Noah and made the shooting noise (not going to try to spell that one!)  Directly in response, Noah pointed at Jonathan and went, "pfff, pfff, pfff." (More)

Noah can now unscrew and screw on lids.    He is also turning out to be an adventurous climber.  He wanted something on top of the changing table and he succeeded in getting both feet on the top of the bottom drawer.  But then he was stuck.  He also likes to step onto the stool in the bathroom to reach the water in the sink. (More)

Just before 7:00 this morning, I thought I heard some sounds, so looked out the window to see a pickup truck but no backhoe.  The backhoe arrived just after 7 and Jonathan watched out the window while I got ready for the day.  Daddy said we could go out to look before breakfast since we didn't know how long they'd be there. (More)

While cooking our breakfast on Saturday, I saw that Heather had put the potatoes on the counter, meaning that we should eat them soon, and not forget about them in their normal storage place.  I asked Jonathan how we should cook the potatoes for dinner, and he said that we should make "Chinese salad". (More)

Last month, I took Jonathan for his first dental checkup and cleaning.  He did a great job, asking lots of questions and generally having a good time.  But they did discover two huge fillings.  The regular dentist doesn't do fillings for kids, so she had us make an appointment with the pediatric dentist who works in the same office.
