Wednesday was the second prenatal appointment. It was just barely starting to snow when we left Pittsburgh, and by the time we got to the small country road where our midwife is, it was a little slippery. Jon is good at driving in snow, but he still missed the turn into their driveway. (More)

Jonathan can really have a conversation on the phone now. He even has good one-sided ones when he is just pretending. For example, "Hello, Mrs. Grover! How are you? You're feeling good. Good!" "Hello, Grandma. I love you, too. Bye." (More)

I have used Efax for a long time. I have heard that their customer service is horrible, and there are a couple alternatives to them. I just use their free fax-receiving only, and it has come in handy a handful of times. Today someone needed to fax something to China, which who knows how much that would cost, but instead, they faxed it to me, and I emailed it to the Chinese tech support. I couldn't get the efax software to output more than the first page of the fax to .tif format, but using Acrobat PDFWriter software, I was able to "print" the proprietary efax document to another less proprietary, or at least more common format, that hopefully will satisfy them.

I was talking with a friend the other day about grandmothers knitting and sweaters they give for Christmas. Her comment was, "I loved my grandma, but those things were hideous." Then I related how I always loved the things my grandma knitted for me. I was just thinking about it again recently. I even liked the pink sweater she made, and the tomboy in me normally didn't like pink. Maybe she was just more savvy about what little girls liked then. She made my sister and me these really neat sweatervests that had animals worked in - the face of the animal on the front, with button eyes, and the tail on the back, with little cat tails hanging out, or bunny rabbit cottontails. They were great. Yay for Grandma!

On Tuesday as Jonathan was complaining about walking up the stairs, I said to him "Whiny voices are not pretty, Jonathan." He replied, "Hannah's pretty!" (More)

Christmas Eve, we went to a church family's party and then had a candlelight service at church. Christmas Day, there was no service (we meet in a school and they didn't want to make the janitor work on Christmas) so we had the day at home. (More)

Jonathan likes to play with the water in the sink, using cups and sponges, etc. I have a "three strikes" rule - after water gets on the floor three times, he has to turn it off and stop playing. Recently, he has actually finished his play before getting to the third time. Christmas Eve, he pulled his stool up to the sink, turned on the water and said, "Mommy, put the towel under the stool so I don't get water on the floor." What a resourceful child! (More)

From Vicki:
Judy's court date for the hearing of motions is tomorrow (which was rescheduled from September). Her attorney tells her that this will be a paperwork day. He is submitting his written arguments today, and then the DA's office, and then the judge, have to have time to evaluate and then decide the issues raised.

Please pray for Judy as she is battling laryngitis and a bad cough/cold. When the body is down, emotions tend to follow.

Please pray for her attorney, the DA and the judge that they will make wise decisions with the information presented to them.

As always, Judy says she is "committed to the fight".

To God be the Glory!
