It has been a long time since the last time Jonathan and I went out on a trip together, and Heather suggested that I take the kids to give her some time to clean and other things by herself.

First, we glued all of the dining room chairs, since they have been falling apart more than usual lately.  Then, Jonathan and I changed the oil in the car and topped off the various fluids.

Top right poked through yesterday after a biting-the-counter stint.  Got his second shot and barely cried.  Didn't even need to nurse.  What a tough kid!

The first part of the upper left incisor poked through yesterday, with much fussing, drool (can you say fountain?), and even a little blood.  Note to Mommy: even if you know he's teething, check the diaper anyway.

I put Noah down on his stomach while I swept the kitchen floor.  I heard a little surprised squeak and when I looked over, there he was on his back!  He even managed to hold onto his stuffed Eeyore as he went.

Noah is very interested in his new teeth - he sticks his tongue in and out over them a lot and then goes "bbbbb" and makes bubbles. (More)

Noah's height chart is doing the same straight-line projection that Jonathan's weight chart did.
28" tall, 18lb 11oz.
I never pay much attention to the head circumference number, but that chart was also straight-line. The last two times, the nurse has double-checked that measurement, but Dr.Anderson wasn't concerned because Noah's overall growth is consistent. He's a big boy!

Noah was having a hard time this early morning and he reached for my fingers to chew on them. Then I felt it! Tooth ridges on the bottom right! (More)

I never did anything with Jonathan's cradle cap and it's still there. It's hidden by hair and doesn't bother him, so I continue to do nothing. But Noah's looks different, and actually more noticable, so I thought I'd try to do something about it. (More)

Jon told me last night that our friend Lisa from church was coming at 10am and we needed to be prepared to go somewhere cool for many hours. (More)

Twice last week, Noah slept eight hours straight at night. This is amazing to me, since I am not actively trying to get him to sleep through the night, and Jonathan didn't do that until he was two years old or so. This does Mommy much good. (:

I just noticed that Jonathan has 203 posts, Isaac has 60, and Noah only has 14, so I will take this opportunity to write about our left-behind third child.
He seems to like trying to catch my eye while I am working at my laptop, and we are sitting on the couch together. I will notice that he is looking at me, and when I refocus past my laptop screen on his eyes, he brightens and grins as big as he can. (More)

This post has been in my head since shortly after Noah was born, but taking the time to write it has not been on my priority list until now. Before I begin, I would like to say that my purpose in writing is simply an explanation of what we're doing and why I think it's great, and an encouragement for others who might like to do similarly. It is NOT meant to be a condemnation of those who have different childrearing philosophies. All parents need to do what they think is best for their children, whether that is the same as what we do or not. (More)

Noah likes to sit in his bouncy seat while I take showers. It has some hanging toys on it which he has now started grabbing for. This morning he succeeded in getting a good enough hold on one to try to bring it to his mouth. Unfortunately, it was not long enough to reach, but he tried several times.
