After Noah's doctor appointment, we went to the grocery store.  I had parked forward-facing to a curbed, sloped sidewalk.  On the side of the walk opposite the parking lot was a railing.  Because of the curb, I did not push the cart to the trunk of my car as I usually do.  I turned it perpendicular to the sidewalk and rested it against the railing.

24 pounds, 9 ounces.  30 inches tall. He didn't cry a single whimper for his shot or any of the blood drawing for his hemoglobin and lead tests.  What a brave, tough guy! (More)

We went to Florida for vacation with the Daleys for one week and the Wightmans for another week.  It was a great time.  But this leaves me behind on posting, so here we go... (More)

Today, Noah is 8 months old!  Yesterday, he played peekaboo with me by pulling the fabric of the sling in front of his face.  When I said, "Where's Noah?" he would pull it away with a big ol' grin and I would say "peekaboo!" (More)

Lower left.  It's been bothering him for quite a while.  Glad it's through and I hope the matching one comes quickly so we can have a rest for a while. (More)

So last week while I was busy preparing for Jon's 30th birthday party, Noah decided to do a lot of things, even though I didn't have time to blog about them! (More)

I had been wondering for a few days if I was seeing correctly.  But yesterday I knew for sure, and this morning only confirms it.  Noah finishes what's on his tray and looks up at me expectantly.  I ask, "more, please?" with signs (sometimes it's a full sentence like 'do you want more bread') and there it is! He brings his hand somewhere between his stomach and chest and rubs with his hand opening and closing (rather as if he's tickling himself.)  So there you have it, folks - Noah's first word is the sign for please(More)

Noah now prefers creeping on hands and knees  - you can see a video on his pictures page.  I also think he went from sitting to crawling once today, but I didn'tt actually see the process.

Other pictures are up, including a picture of Jonathan's maze he solved all by himself.

One afternoon we were shredding carrots in the food processor for a salad.  Noah was getting upset, so Jonathan said to me, "You go ahead and give Noah milk; I'll finish the carrots." (More)

We finally went skiing for the first time this year and although it was pretty cold, we did have a lot of fun and stayed a lot longer than we did last year. (More)

I've been especially enjoying my boys the last week or so, having fun watching them learn so fast.  Specifically, Noah's crawling and Jonathan's recognition of numerals and letters. (More)

I lost my planner just before Christmas (as far as I can deduce, in a shopping cart in the parking lot of Jo-Ann's on McKnight Rd - anybody seen it?  Please return it, you can keep the gift cards, I just want the information!)  It had several notes in it about cute things the boys did or said, and I'm sure many are lost, but I do remember a few.  Plus I did write down other things that have happened since. (More)

Noah, as mentioned in Jon's saturday post, has been grabbing for my food, and I have started giving him tiny squashed samples.  This is one of the great differences between him and his big brother, who did not care very much for solid food until at least a year.  Yet it's not like this big boy is lacking any nutrition! (More)

It has been a long time since the last time Jonathan and I went out on a trip together, and Heather suggested that I take the kids to give her some time to clean and other things by herself.

First, we glued all of the dining room chairs, since they have been falling apart more than usual lately.  Then, Jonathan and I changed the oil in the car and topped off the various fluids.
