After much disturbing of the poor robins, I have taken off the paneling over the window and have a lovely view of the nest. It is at a rather awkward angle for the camera, but I can still get some shots. (More)

In my research on robins, I found this spectacular site called A Robin's Diary with videos and day-by-day updates.

I picked a great time to take photos of our nest today - the parents had just come back from worm hunting when I got inside. (More)

It is so cool to watch things grow. Last Wednesday, May 12, I got all our pots together with new dirt and planted hot peppers, radishes, lettuce and spinach. We also have three cherry tomato plants generously donated by a friend. (More)

I can now recite in their entirety from memory:
Miss Spider's Tea Party
Dr.Seuss's ABC
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
and maybe Sandra Boynton's A to Z, though I haven't tested myself on that one yet.

Jon has me working on some stuff for Lime Daley so he has time for his other projects. For the most part, changing settings has a user-friendly interface that I can do pretty easily. However, there are some code things "in the background." (More)

While looking up information on the Pennsylvania Use Tax (which is another story for another day) I found a regulation that states that tourists in PA who stay longer than 7 days are required to pay Use Tax on items that they brought into the commonwealth and used while they were here. How enforceable is that?!?

I called my friend Alissa today and her four and a half year old son William answered. I said hi and asked for his mom and he said, "Well, she's downstairs right now, but you can talk to me and tell me what you want to say and I can tell her." It was not that long ago that he would only say, please call back. It wasn't even that much longer before that when he couldn't even answer the phone! (More)

When I was in the grocery store today, a lady came up to me and said, "Did you see...?" and proceeded to tell me a sad and horrific story she had read in the newspaper. I said, "no, that's one reason I don't read the paper" and she went on about it and how angry she was. I started to move on, and she said, "Well, have a nice day." Yeah, not quite as nice as it had been. . .

Jon is spending today and tonight at the Jubilee conference downtown, praying for the conference and conferees in the prayer room. Jonathan and I went to meet him for dinner. Now before I proceed, I want to make clear that I would have been taking the bus even if we had a car, because parking downtown is a pain. (More)

Heather and I went shopping for jeans yesterday; Heather to try to find jeans that don't have the new low-cut waist line, and me to replace some worn out pairs that have spontaneously ripped when doing various projects around the house. (More)

Jonathan loves to watch the garbage truck come down the street and pick up the trash. This morning, we spent 25 minutes standing at the window, watching the world, waiting for the truck, watching the truck, and learning new things. (More)

Today's comic in Jon's Dilbert page-a-day calendar has Dogbert saying "Hello, this is Dogbert's All-Natural and Holistic Tech Support. . .Try stuffing tree bark in the CD drive and meditating. . . No, of course it won't damage anything, it's all natural!" (More)

This post isn't much use to anyone else, unless they want to try to stalk us and find us at the bus stops. Here are (or at least, here will be) lists of busses that we take often to get various places. This way, Heather won't have to do as much work in the future. (More)
