When I was in the grocery store today, a lady came up to me and said, "Did you see...?" and proceeded to tell me a sad and horrific story she had read in the newspaper. Yeah, not quite as nice as it had been. . .

Jon is spending today and tonight at the Jubilee conference downtown, praying for the conference and conferees in the prayer room. Jonathan and I went to meet him for dinner. Now before I proceed, I want to make clear that I would have been taking the bus even if we had a car, because parking downtown is a pain. (More)

Heather and I went shopping for jeans yesterday; Heather to try to find jeans that don't have the new low-cut waist line, and me to replace some worn out pairs that have spontaneously ripped when doing various projects around the house. (More)

As we were cleaning up from my birthday party, Heather noticed a police car in our back alley. It turns out there were two brothers (one is a self-proclaimed starving musician)  (More)

Jonathan loves to watch the garbage truck come down the street and pick up the trash. This morning, we spent 25 minutes standing at the window, watching the world, waiting for the truck, watching the truck, and learning new things. (More)

Today's comic in Jon's Dilbert page-a-day calendar has Dogbert saying "Hello, this is Dogbert's All-Natural and Holistic Tech Support. . .Try stuffing tree bark in the CD drive and meditating. . . No, of course it won't damage anything, it's all natural!" (More)

This post isn't much use to anyone else, unless they want to try to stalk us and find us at the bus stops. Here are (or at least, here will be) lists of busses that we take often to get various places. This way, Heather won't have to do as much work in the future. (More)

Almost all of the windows in the house are wide open, a fresh breeze is pouring in, and the sun is shining! Invigorating!

The night we arrived (Monday) was "Christmas Eve" so we each opened our one present from "Mr. Ho" and filled the stockings for the morning. It turns out that Santa had also visted Bermuda, because we each received a souvenir ornament from Bermuda. (More)

We woke up this morning (5ish) to no water in our upstairs bathroom. The downstairs sink was fine, which had been trouble before, so maybe I actually fixed that last year. The temperature was 9 degrees Fahrenheit, and typically, we have had trouble once it gets to the teens. (More)

Our DSL went down and Jon called me and did a three way with Speakeasy to see what was going on. After trying a couple of things that did not work, Jon mentioned that it was raining, but not lightning. I went to the window to check things out, and I saw a Verizon guy up at the telephone pole. (More)

Last night, our four-year-old friend William was telling us about the state of their basement playroom. "You don't want to go downstairs, it's a disastrophe!"

I went to vote this morning on the way to Women's Bible Study. The most interesting part was that Jonathan somehow got ahold of the "Independent" label from the voting machine and was chewing on it when we got back outside. I thought I had kept him from touching it! I gave it back to one of the ladies there, but it wasn't really useable any more. I hope we didn't mess anything up.
